Gophers women pull away from Towson after relocating shooting touch

It took Shayne Mullaney nearly the entire first quarter Sunday to score her first basket.

But once she did, the floodgates opened.

Mullaney scored seven points in two minutes to end the quarter and finished with a career-high 25 points, 13 rebounds and nine assists in the Gophers' 105-86 victory over Towson at Williams Arena.

The win, which snapped a two-game skid, featured a balanced attack from Minnesota's guard-heavy lineup.

Five players scored in double digits. Sophomore Carlie Wagner led with 27 and redshirt senior Rachel Banham had 24.

Wagner (10 rebounds), Banham (10) and Mullaney finished with double-doubles, with Joanna Hedstrom (14 points) just a rebound away from her own.
