Three power-play goals carried the No. 3 Gophers women to a 4-2 win Saturday at St. Cloud State and a sweep of their two-game weekend series.
Milica McMillen and Cara Piazza got things started with a pair of first-period goals for Minnesota (22-3-0, 17-3-0 WCHA), which went 3 for 5 on the power play.
Taylor Williamson added an even-strength goal in the second off assists from Nina Rodgers and Lee Stecklein to make it a 3-0 game going into the final period.
Lauren Hespenheide got St. Cloud State (11-11-3, 7-10-3-3) on the board just 1:51 into the third, but Dani Cameranesi scored her 24th goal of the season 3:31 later on another power play to restore the Gophers' three-goal cushion.
