The U.S. Department of Education's Office of Civil Rights has concluded its investigation into gender equity in the University of Minnesota athletics department, the school said. Results are expected sometime this winter.
"Should OCR's investigation reveal any concerns, the University is committed to working with OCR to address them," the school said in a memorandum sent to the school's Board of Regents on Friday.
The memorandum paints a positive picture of its compliance with Title IX, the federal law that requires equal opportunities at all schools receiving federal aid. The school began an independent audit of its Title IX compliance, led by sports law attorney Janet Judge, in the summer of 2014.
