Gophers swimmers Christopher Johnson and Jessica Plant have been awarded Big Ten postgraduate scholarships, the conference announced Thursday. They're worth a combined $15,000.
Twenty-nine student-athletes from the 14 Big Ten institutions who plan to continue their education at a graduate degree program were awarded the scholarship, based on primarily academic achievements.
All of this year's recipients have been named academic all-Big Ten at least once in their careers, while four have been tabbed Academic All-Americans, including Wisconsin golfer Kimberly Dinh.
Plant, who also won the 2015 Wayne Duke Postgraduate Award, helped Minnesota win a Big Ten title this season.
