Gophers suspend point guard Dorsey for Friday's exhibition

Gophers freshman point guard Kevin Dorsey was suspended for Friday night's exhibition finale against Southwest Minnesota State, the team announced before the game.

Dorsey, the top recruit of Minnesota coach Richard Pitino's 2015 class, "failed to meet his academic obligations as a student-athlete," according to the release.

The Maryland native was competing for a backup spot behind sophomore starter Nate Mason. He scored two points on 0-for-7 shooting from the field, and 2-for-4 shooting from the foul line, in a 74-57 win against Minnesota Crookston.
