Gophers cornerback Briean Boddy-Calhoun will avoid surgery on the right knee he injured against Ohio last week and is questionable for Saturday's Big Ten opener against Northwestern.
Boddy-Calhoun was hurt in the 27-24 win over the Bobcats, and coach Jerry Kill was concerned Sunday about what a magnetic resonance imaging test might reveal about the long-term health of his all-Big Ten senior.
Kill said Boddy-Calhoun would not practice Tuesday. As for Saturday's game, Kill said, "We'll see."
The Gophers could breathe a sigh of relief that Boddy-Calhoun doesn't appear to be lost for rest of the season.
