Gophers report: Acting line coach Olson moving on to Southern Illinois

DETROIT -- Minnesota's acting offensive line coach Trevor Olson will be named offensive line coach at Southern Illinois.

"Well deserved for a great guy," tweeted Gophers backup center Matt Leidner.

Gophers coach Tracy Claeys said Wednesday he expects to announce a new offensive line coach after the Gophers play Central Michigan in Monday afternoon's Quick Lane Bowl. The Gophers also are searching for an offensive coordinator, but Claeys has said that could extend into the national coaches' convention in mid-January.

Olson, in his third year as a graduate assistant, was promoted to acting offensive line coach after former offensive line coach-offensive coordinator Matt Limegrover was fired Nov.
