The Gophers received a commitment from China Spring, Texas outside linebacker D’Marion Alexander. The three-star recruit held offers from Kansas, TCU, Texas Tech and others, according to 24/7 Sports.
It will be fun to watch Alexander develop in Minnesota’s system. At 6-foot-5, 215 pounds, he has excellent length and will continue to add weight. He originally played safety and wide receiver, but moved to outside linebacker last season. When considering his athletic profile and length, there is plenty of upside for a player with his skills. The coaching staff can explore developing him into a pass rusher or using him as an outside linebacker.
