Gophers' offensive line isn't measuring up

The Gophers offensive line was supposed to be a strength entering the season with a handful of players returning that helped David Cobb break the school single-season rushing record last year.

Even after injuries sidelined starters Ben Lauer and Jon Christenson during the first two games, Minnesota coach Jerry Kill didn't expect to be embarrassed by the play up front in Saturday's 10-7 win against Kent State at TCF Bank Stadium.

"We're not running the ball very well. That's where it all starts," Kill said. "We can't make excuses about 'we've got these guys hurt and that guy hurt.
