Freshman Eric Schierhorn earned his first career shutout and the Gophers men's hockey team rebounded after being swept by Minnesota Duluth with a 4-0 win over Northeastern on Friday night in a nonconference game at Mariucci Arena.
Tommy Novak, Jack Glover and Tyler Sheehy scored their first goals as Gophers, giving Minnesota (1-2-0) a 3-0 lead after the first period, and Jack Sadek earned his first career point with an assist in his collegiate debut.
Junior forward Hudson Fasching, who set up Glover's goal, completed the scoring with just under three minutes left in the game.
