Gophers men's hockey: Michigan shows why it's tops in Big Ten with 8-3 romp

ANN ARBOR, MI -- When playing Michigan in hockey, the game can change in a second, at the blink of an eye.

Minnesota found out the hard way right from the opening puck drop Friday night.

Twice the Gophers came back from early deficits. Twice the Wolverines and its high-powered offense made the team pay, pulling away in the second period to hand Minnesota an 8-3 loss in a game between the two teams predicted before the season to finish at the top of the Big Ten standings.

"With a game like that, you pretty much have to re-evaluate a lot of things," said Minnesota's Hudson Fasching, who scored two goals.
