Head coach P.J. Fleck is usually tight-lipped about injuries, but was uncharacteristically forthcoming this morning regarding the status of several players for Saturday’s 7 p.m. showdown at home with Michigan State.
In the secondary, both safety Antoine Winfield, Jr. and cornerback Kiondre Thomas are out, to go along with cornerback Zo Craighton, who is out for the season. Safety Duke McGhee is back from suspension but whether he sees the field against Michigan State will depend on his week of practice, according to Fleck.
Since Fleck has stated that he will not pull any more redshirts at this point in the season, that means Antonio Shenault and Coney Durr will be the only scholarship cornerbacks available against Michigan State.
