Hudson Fasching scored two first-period goals Saturday night as the Minnesota Gophers beat Northeastern 4-3 in a men's hockey game at Mariucci Arena.
The victory in front of 9,072 gave the Gophers their first series sweep of the young season and improved their record to 2-3.
Michael Brodzinski had a goal and two assist for the Gophers, who never trailed after jumping out to a 3-0 lead in the first four minutes of the first period. Leon Bristedt had a goal and an assist for Minnesota, and Justin Kloos registered two assists.
Nick Seeler assisted on Bristedt's goal, giving the Minnesota Wild draft pick his first point in a Gophers uniform.
