Gophers hockey: Minnesota lets another late lead get away in OT loss to Harvard

Another year, another lost lead for Minnesota.

The Gophers had the Mariucci Classic title within their grasp Saturday night against No. 7 Harvard, with two third-period goals only 28 seconds apart putting the team up 3-2.

The team needed to hold on for 5-1/2 minutes for its first championship in its home tournament since Dec. 30, 2012, but couldn't manage it.

Tournament most valuable player Kyle Criscuolo scored with 33 seconds left in the third period and again 2-1/2 minutes into overtime to hand Minnesota a 4-3 loss in the Mariucci Classic's final game.

The Gophers (8-9, 3-1 Big Ten) had a two-game winning streak ended with the loss and have yet to push their record over .
