SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico -- For one game Friday, Gophers senior Joey King felt as if he was back in the Missouri Valley Conference.
King, an Eagan native who transferred from Drake back home to Minnesota two years ago, scored a career-high 21 points against Missouri State as a Bulldogs freshman in 2013.
The 6-foot-9 forward had another big game against the Bears with 18 points on six three-pointers in the Gophers' 74-69 victory Friday morning in the Puerto Rico Tip-Off consolation semifinals.
"I played in the Valley for a year," King said. "I know (Missouri State is) a scrappy team.
