Gophers senior wide receiver KJ Maye was selected Thursday to play in the Senior Bowl in his native Mobile, Ala., on Jan. 30.
The game will be held at Ladd-Pebbles Stadium, where Maye played home games for Murphy High School.
"Bringing him home is special," Senior Bowl scout Patrick Woo to the Pioneer Press. "He had a record-setting career at Minnesota."
Maye had 73 receptions for 773 receiving yards and five touchdowns. Forty-five of his catches resulted in first downs or touchdowns. The catches and yards rank second for a single season behind Eric Decker's 84 receptions for 1,074 yards in 2008.
