Gophers fans should put away the "Jones For Heisman" signs.
Jeff Jones, a highly touted freshman running back turned wide receiver, played in Minnesota's 23-17 loss Thursday to Texas Christian but didn't make an impact.
"Jeff is still learning," offensive coordinator Matt Limegrover said. "I know everybody wants Jeff to be a Heisman (Trophy) finalist right now."
Jones suffered a concussion during training camp and is still growing accustomed to his new position.
"There are times where he does some things that are really good," Limegrover said. "There are times where if he does what he did in practice, if he does that in a game, we're in trouble.
