Gophers football: Jon Christenson out, KJ Maye plays through injury

With starting left guard Jon Christenson injured, the Gophers offensive line will remain in flux for Saturday's game against Kent State.

Christenson injured his right knee early in Saturday's 23-20 overtime win over Colorado State in Fort Collins, Colo. He was replaced by Joe Bjorklund.

The extend of Christenson's injury is not known, but he won't play against Kent State, coach Jerry Kill said Sunday.

"Poor Jon Christenson; I want to cry for him because it's his knee," Kill said. "I don't know what the extent of it is."

Christenson broke his left leg in 2013; he played 12 games last season with a lot of pain caused by an 18-inch metal rod in his leg.
