CHICAGO -- Coming off the Gophers football team's first winning record in the Big Ten Conference since 2003, coach Jerry Kill expects this year's team to be faster and more athletic.
"We keep improving," Gophers coach Jerry Kill said Friday at the conference's media days. "Last year, I said we will have a better football team, and we firmly believe we will be more athletic and a better football team this year."
Kill has had two consecutive 8-5 seasons and last season played in the program's first New Year's Day bowl game since 1962. After a 33-17 loss to Missouri in the Citrus Bowl, Kill has a 25-26 career record at Minnesota.
