The Gophers have been besieged by injuries, coach Jerry Kill said after Wednesday's practice.
Kill estimated two or three players could be out for the rest of the season. About 20 players Wednesday were in orange jerseys that signify no contact, and four offensive linemen didn't practice.
"I've never seen anything like this in my 32 years in coaching," Kill said. "The toughest thing for me right now is all of these kids that work so hard, and when they get hurt, it kills me. ... We are running out of people."
Quarterback Mitch Leidner is among the dinged-up players, and his undisclosed ailment is affecting his ability to run the football, Kill said.
