Gophers coach Jerry Kill wishes he could recruit 100 Cody Poocks.
"He's a hard-nosed, nasty ol' kid," Kill said of his blond-haired starting middle linebacker. "Lets that hair grow. ... He's really playing at a high level right now, and we got him for two more years."
Poock, a sophomore transfer from Iowa Western Community College, is tied with Antonio Johnson for the team lead with 24 total tackles.
Poock said he benefited from double-team blocks on defensive tackle Steven Richardson in Saturday's 10-7 win over Kent State.
"When Steve has a game like that against Colorado (State) and Scott Ekpe does, they are going to be double-teamed and that frees us up big time to make plays," Poock said.
