The Gophers football team has added its eighth Minnesota high school player to its 2016 recruiting class.
Burnsville quarterback Kamal Martin gave a verbal commitment to Minnesota on Monday. The 6-foot-3, 205-pound, three-star recruit originally gave a oral commitment to Eastern Michigan in June.
"I would like to say that the University of Minnesota is the best fit for my family and I!!!" Martin said on Twitter. "I will be attending the University of Minnesota for the next 4-5 years."
The Gophers have 13 players with verbal commitments, including the recent addition of Tralund Webber, a 6-foot-5, 250-pound defensive end.
