Texas State football coach Dennis Franchione wasn't able to see his former assistants Jerry Kill and Gary Patterson coaching against each other for the first time last year.
Franchione's team had a game on Sept. 13, when Minnesota lost 30-7 to Texas Christian in Fort Worth.
But the former TCU coach will be glued to the television Thursday night to see the Gophers and Horned Frogs meet again.
"I know Gary had a great team last year," Franchione said. "Going to Fort Worth was tough for Jerry, but sounds like Jerry will have a better team this year.
