Briean Boddy-Calhoun is a big talker. Instead of trash toward opponents, though, he shares positive vibes and chatter about defensive schemes with teammates.
On the other side, Eric Murray is the quiet one. He is focused on the task and often speaks only when it's important.
Together, the Gophers cornerbacks were lightly recruited high school players and turned into all-Big Ten performers who now have the interest of NFL scouts.
"They embodied making our program legitimate and relevant," said Gophers secondary coach Jay Sawvel.
Boddy-Calhoun and Murray are two of 19 seniors who played on a team that went 3-9 in their first season.
