The No. 4-ranked University of Minnesota volleyball team tuned up for a matchup against No. 1 Penn State by defeating Northwestern in four sets Wednesday night in Evanston, Ill.
Set scores were 25-23, 25-19, 22-25, 25-18.
Molly Lohman had a career-high 13 kills, matched a career high with 10 blocks and hit a team-best .545 for the Gophers (22-3, 14-1 Big Ten). Hannah Tapp also had 13 kills and 10 blocks.
Minnesota will face Penn State at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Sports Pavilion.
