Amir Coffey struggled for much of the night against Penn State in the Gopher’s Big Ten Tournament opener. But in the end he absolutely dominated and led the Gophers to a 77-72 win in overtime.
Coffey missed all 5 of his three point attempts and overall was just 6/17 shooting. But he scored 12 of the team’s 13 points in overtime and Minnesota advanced.
The win really means that this team is a lock to make the NCAA Tournament and will likely be in the 8/9-seed range. A win today over Purdue might even move them up to a 7.
