Gophers basketball: Tons of fight after poor start in Ohio State loss

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Trailing by 15 points midway through the first half of Wednesday's Big Ten opener at Ohio State, the Gophers could have curled into the fetal position.

After all, it was the first conference game for three Minnesota freshmen and the first time playing in Columbus for all but two players on the roster.

The Gophers overcame one of their worst starts to a game all season to take the lead in the second half, but they fell 78-63 to the Buckeyes at Value City Arena.

Carlos Morris, who had a team-high 18 points, opened the second half with a three-pointer.
