Gophers basketball coach Richard Pitino doesn't see any similarity between his team's three consecutive losses this season and the 0-5 start to the Big Ten a year ago.
Last season, Pitino seemed frustrated and surprised by the losing streak, because it happened to a senior-laden team that had realistic aspirations of reaching the NCAA tournament.
That isn't the case this time around.
"Totally different team," Pitino said. "Those were seniors. These are a bunch of freshmen and sophomores, so totally different team. That was during the Big Ten. This is nonconference. I think it's just totally different levels.
