The Gophers aren't used to having their two star guards go cold at the same time, or for extended periods of time.
When redshirt senior Rachel Banham is off, usually sophomore Carlie Wagner isn't. When Wagner is off, Banham isn't. And a lot of times, neither of them is off.
But as Wednesday's game rolled along, neither had much success from the floor. With little help around their two stars, the Gophers lost to New Mexico, 72-53, at Williams Arena.
Though the two led the Gophers in points -- 22 for Banham and 16 for Wagner -- they shot a combined 12 for 43 from the floor.
