If Gophers basketball coach Richard Pitino could pick a starting lineup right now, it would be probably not include three guards.
Pitino realized last season that size matters in the Big Ten, so as practice officially started Friday, he expressed interest in starting a bigger lineup.
Minnesota's starters right now would be 6-foot-2 Nate Mason at point guard, 6-5 Carlos Morris at shooting guard, 6-9 Charles Buggs at small forward, 6-9 Joey King at power forward and 6-11 Bakary Konate at center.
"In my ideal world, that's a big lineup, pretty talented," Pitino said Friday. "The one thing you learn is that you make a plan and you know it's going to change.
