July is the busiest recruiting month for college basketball coaches, including Nate Pomeday, who hit the road this week for the first time as a University of Minnesota assistant.
July is an extremely special month for the Pomedays, as well. Their daughter, Everley, turns 5. Three years ago, she had the last of her major surgeries to correct a clubfoot and hip dysplasia.
"There haven't been any issues so far," Pomeday said. "Other than seeing a scar on her thigh that goes over her knee, you would have no idea she went through what she did."
After Gophers basketball games last season, Everley would run around the locker room and write on the dry-erase board with head coach Richard Pitino's daughter, Ava.
