University of Minnesota women's hockey coach Brad Frost said he considered Amanda Kessel's college career over when the team announced last fall that she would miss the 2014-15 season because of a concussion.
Frost said Tuesday nothing has changed from the Gophers' standpoint since then regarding Kessel, the 2013 Patty Kazmaier Award winner as the top women's hockey player.
"It was a long shot that she would be able to play with the symptoms she had last year and even after sitting a full year last year," Frost said. "The decision was made awhile ago that she would not be playing this year.
