Notre Dame scored three goals in the third period to avoid a two-game sweep at the hands of Arizona State, winning Friday, 5-4.
Nick Leivermann scored with five seconds left in regulation to give the Irish the win. He banged in a loose puck that had been sitting near the goal line.
"It was pretty close," Leivermann said. "I actually backed out of the zone pretty far and saw it there and figured I'd try to jump back in. The first shot was blocked, and it went back in my feet and I took a whack at it.
