Less than a week after he was released from jail for a previous legal infraction, former University of Minnesota basketball player Daquein McNeil was accused of violating his conditional release by contacting and allegedly assaulting the victim again.
McNeil, who was arrested Friday and is currently in custody at Hennepin County jail, was charged in November with felony assault and felony domestic assault for allegedly beating and strangling his girlfriend.
A restraining order was issued in December, barring McNeil from having any contact with the woman.
He was arrested on May 20 because he missed a court appearance and posted bail on June 11.
