Forget honors - Gophers' Hannah Brandt wants 3rd NCAA title

In each of the past two seasons, Hannah Brandt has come tantalizingly close to winning the highest individual honor in college women's hockey, the Patty Kazmaier Award.

The Gophers forward was the nation's second-best scorer the past three seasons, and missed out on sharing the scoring title by one point in 2014.

But as the Hill-Murray graduate enters a potential record-breaking senior season Thursday at Penn State, she isn't all that interested in reversing either trend. Brandt just wants to add a third national championship ring to her collection.

"We wanted four. You come in and you want to win every single year, but right now three is the best we can do -- and I think that's pretty amazing and special," Brandt said.
