Gophers seniors Joey King and Carlos Morris said they heard about Texas Tech players being extra motivated to win for their coach Tubby Smith in the Red Raiders' 81-68 victory over Smith's former school Sunday.
Texas Tech senior Toddrick Gotcher tweeted this on Saturday: "Game tomorrow against Minnesota! We getting this win for Coach Tubby Smith and coaching staff! This game is personal!"
"(Charles) Buggs was the only guy who played for Coach Smith and he redshirted that year," King said. "We didn't really look into it that much. I heard through social media or something that they had some extra motivation.
