Ex-Gophers assistant McElroy lands Concordia-St. Paul job

Former Gophers graduate assistant Mike McElroy announced Monday he is the defensive coordinator at Concordia-St. Paul.

"Excited for an opportunity to impact young people through the game," McElroy wrote in a tweet.

McElroy finished his second season a year ago with Minnesota's defense. He previously played safety under Jerry Kill and Tracy Claeys at Southern Illinois from 2007-10.
