Cobb is the first Gopher running back drafted since Laurence Maroney in 2006
David Cobb was selected by the Tennessee Titans in the fifth round of the NFL Draft on Saturday. The Titans selected Cobb with the 138th overall pick. Cobb becomes the 10th Gopher running back to be selected in the NFL Draft, but just the first since Laurence Maroney was selected by the New England Patriots in the first round in 2006.
Cobb heads to the NFL after a fantastic senior season for the Gophers. He set Minnesota single season records with 316 carries for 1,626 yards.
