Annie Pankowski scored a power-play goal with 55 seconds remaining in overtime to lift top-ranked Wisconsin past No. 3 Minnesota 3-2 on Friday night in a WCHA women's hockey game at Madison, Wis.
After an evenly matched scoreless first period, all four goals during regulation came in the second period. Brook Garzone gave Minnesota a 1-0 lead on a breakaway goal at 3:42 of the period, but the Badgers responded with a goal by Sam Cogan at 8:20.
The Gophers killed off a five-on-three penalty behind stellar defensive play from Lee Stecklein, Kelly Pannek and Milica McMillen before Wisconsin took a 2-1 lead on an even-strength goal by Rachel Jones.
