John Shipley takes a look at this week's football games:
SATURDAY
ILLINOIS at PENN STATE, 11 a.m., ESPN2
Skinny: Illinois (4-3, 1-2) has done well not to unravel after a surprise head coaching change, beating Nebraska and playing unbeaten Iowa tough. But with two straight losses, the Illini appear to have peaked. Penn State (6-2, 3-1) has two games until its bye week but won't be tired enough to lose to an inferior team at home. Penn State, 29-17
NEBRASKA at PURDUE, 11 a.m., ESPNU
Skinny: As with Penn State before them, the Cornhuskers (3-5, 1-3) are learning the hard way how difficult it is to win consistently in the Big Ten.
