CHN Staff Report
It took a statisical quirk amid a crazy year, to complement a tremendous second-half run, but in the end, Wisconsin had its first regular-season Big Ten championsip, and first as a member of any conference since winning the WCHA in 1999-2000.
Because of Penn State's late-season shutdown, Big Ten teams wound up playing an uneven amount of games. That kicked in the protocols for this season where the league would use winning percentage to determine the regular-season champ. Note, not points percentage, winning percentage; meaning that all shootout results would be dismissed.
