The University of Minnesota will examine student-athlete recruitment practices and workplace culture in the wake of athletics director Norwood Teague's resignation.
Board of Regents chairman Dean Johnson said the plans emerged from a Tuesday meeting with U President Eric Kaler.
Johnson said the U routinely conducts an internal audit whenever a top administrator leaves. In addition, they'll hire someone outside the U to audit athletics program spending, such as travel expenses.
"We want to be transparent. We want to look at the entire department," Johnson said.
The U also will hire an employment attorney as a consultant to look into the culture and employment practices of the athletics department.
