The Big Ten is set to begin its 10th season since arriving in college hockey.
Here are five storylines and five players we’re watching in the conference this season.
Hunting for a Breakthrough
The Big Ten is still looking for its first national champion since the football and basketball power began sponsoring hockey for the 2013-14 season.
Three different conferences have sent a program to the top of the college game in that span. The NCHC has won five national titles, while Hockey East can claim two and the ECAC has one.
The Big Ten has sent six teams to the Frozen Four in its short history — including three in one year — but that national title still eludes the conference.
