The Wisconsin Herd’s first contest in Sin City as part of this year’s G League Winter Showcase came with a stinging feeling as they fell to the Memphis Hustle 124-113 Thursday afternoon at the Mandalay Bay Events Center.
A strong start for both teams gave way to a very competitive first quarter which saw a few lead changes throughout. However, it was the Hustle that ended up with the upper hand as they held a 37-30 lead over the Herd after one.
That set the tone for the rest of the first half, as the Herd fought to close down their deficit throughout the entire second quarter.
