The Wisconsin Herd needed not one, not two, but three overtime periods to put an end to their 11-game losing streak with their 119-118 victory over the Maine Red Claws Saturday night.
Both teams got off to solid starts once the night got going following the opening tip. While it was the Red Claws that held control for the first several minutes in the first quarter, the Herd edged by them just after the three-minute mark and held a 29-28 lead after one.
The opening minutes of the second period saw the Herd maintain and build on their lead over the Red Claws, which stood as high as 15 at the 5:38 mark in the quarter.
