Make that five straight losses for the Wisconsin Herd as they fell short of making their last-ditch comeback attempt on the Grand Rapids Drive a successful one Wednesday night.
The Herd got off to an excellent start for the night, given that they hit double digits within the game’s opening two minutes. Following their initial misstep, however, the Drive rose to life from that point on in the first quarter, though the Herd were able to keep them at bay for the rest of the period as they held a 31-27 lead after one.
That rhythm carried over into the second period, despite the fact that the Herd held their biggest lead of the night (12) at the 7:38 mark of the quarter.
