Vasquez proves point with team-first mentality

Trades that dominate the national headlines and generate heavy hype aren’t the only ones that become impactful.

The Milwaukee Bucks’ acquisition of Greivis Vasquez on June 25 – the night of the 2015 NBA Draft – could become a classic example.

The Bucks obtained the 6-foot-6-inch guard from the Toronto Raptors in exchange for the draft rights to UCLA guard Norman Powell – the 46th overall pick in the 2015 draft – and a protected 2017 first-round pick that originally belonged to the Los Angeles Clippers.

Vasquez, 28, bolsters a young Milwaukee roster with five seasons of NBA experience, during which he has demonstrated the willingness and the capability to perform in a starting or reserve role.
