NBA Draft 2018 Prospect Watch: Anfernee Simons

Anfernee Simons is one of the youngest players in this year’s NBA draft, and the latest player to skip college play en route to the pro ranks.

Much like Milwaukee Bucks center Thon Maker did prior to landing in the NBA, Simons has spent a post-graduate year at a specialized academy school, in this case IMG Academy in Florida, making him one year removed from high school and eligible for the draft.

Currently slated for the middle to late portion of the first round by many, Simons committed to Louisville prior to the dismissal of Rick Pitino and is good friends with Donovan Mitchell, a player who faced similar mid first round projections last year before going on to put in a Rookie of the Year caliber season.
