When the Milwaukee Bucks entered the fourth quarter of Friday’s Summer League opener against the Philadelphia 76ers, they trailed by 16 points and the prospect of a three-quarter court Sterling Brown heave almost completing a comeback would have seemed absurd.
As it was, Milwaukee didn’t complete a comeback. They lost 107-106, but absurdity still reigned. After all, this is Summer League. Where absurdity happens.
The Sixers hung on to close out the win following a comically chaotic final 30 seconds where they seemed to want to give Milwaukee every chance to finish them off. In the end, the Bucks got it together somewhat to close out the game with a chance to turn it around, but it was all too little, too late.
