After weeks of speculation of what the Milwaukee Bucks might do at pick No. 23, we now have an answer. They’ve selected AJ Johnson from the Illawara Hawks from the National Basketball League.
Johnson was born in Fresno, California prior to joining the NBL. There, he averaged 2.9 PPG, 0.7 APG, and 1.3 RPG. He averaged just over seven minutes of action. He’s characterized as able to play either guard or small forward, boasting an athletic amount of speed.
Johnson, 19, is the 13th youngest draft-eligible player this year.
Didn't play much in the NBL this past season, but impressed at the NBA Draft Combine.
